OSMOND – Wynot picked up a big four-set win over the Osmond Lady Tigers here Tuesday, then defeated Niobrara/Verdigre on Thursday.
This marked the Lady Blue Devils’ seventh straight win as they improved to 19-3 before next week’s Lewis and Clark Conference tournament.
Wynot got off to a slow start against Osmond, falling 23-25 in the first set before bouncing back for three straight wins — 25-14, 25-15, 25-11.
“This game was a good team effort,” Wieseler said. “We let the first set slip through our hands because we didn’t work really hard. We struggled passing the ball in the first set.
Maggie Schulte had 12 kills and three blocks to pace the Lady Devils at the net.
Samantha Wieseler and Shelby Wieseler led the team on defense with four blocks and 19 digs, respectively.

Against Niobrara-Verdigre, the Lady Devils stormed out to a 25-10 first-set win, then won 25-20, 25-13 to seal the victory.
Despite the three-set win, coach Wieseler said her team needs to keep its focus better.
“We lost our focus and intensity during the second match, but continued to play good fundamental volleyball and worked our way back to take the win,” she said.
