SOUTH SIOUX CITY — The Laurel-Concord/Coleridge football team recently participated in a two-day football camp in South Sioux City, jointly sponsored by the National Guard and the National Football League.
The camp featured speakers from the National Guard and individual technique work was taught by area high school coaches.
The local players also took part in a 7-on-7 passing tournament.
Coach T.J. Shiers said the Bears performed extremely well at the camp, putting together a 3-1 record.
The team’s only loss came on the final play of the championship game against South Sioux City.
LCC had victories over West Point, Wayne, and LeMars, Iowa, to advance to the title game.
By virtue of their performance, LCC has been invited to the regional 7-on-7 tournament in Kansas City June 22.
