Big win at Verdigre

VERDIGRE — Jillian Jueden and a Verdigre runner have a collision at third base. Both girls were alright after the play. Hartington won the game 12-7. Brandy Wiebelhaus releases her pitch during Hartington’s 14 and under softball game against Verdigre Thursday night. Camie Stratman makes contact with the ball during one of her plate appearances.

HARTINGTON — Mackenzie Arens prepares to make a throw from second to third base during recent 10-and-under softball action against Crofton, while Hartington’s Hannah Kleinschmit takes a big cut at the ball at the plate. Teammates Reagan Hansen, Aiden Wortmann, and Brooklyn Kuehn celebrate after making a comeback in the last of their contests to earn the victory. The girls were behind by three runs, but the rally produced an 11-10 victory.

Hartington 12s put together impressive win streak

HARTINGTON — The Hartington 12-and-under softball girls recently wound up the 2012 season.
Hartington pounded out a big 18-16 win over Crofton on June 7. Liby Lange and Gina Jueden shared pitching duties in the win.
Lange, Belle Harms, and Willa Scoville got the Hartington offense started setting the table for Joelie Schrieber who then blasted a double to clear the bases.
In the second frame Harms hit another single, while Lange, Jueden, Kennedy Benson, and Abbe Morten all scored.

Hartington 12s compete against area foes

HARTINGTON — The Hartington 12-and-under softball team opened the season with a 2-1 record, falling 9-8 to Verdigre, but beating both Wausa and Randolph.
Liby Lange took the mound for Hartington against Verdigre. Lange started out strong, striking out the first batter, but the Lady Hawks were able to plate two in the frame.

Softball teams take on Osmond, Randolph

HARTINGTON — The Hartingon 14 and under team earned a split during recent action.
On June 19, Hartington dropped a 12-11 decision to Osmond.
Kayla Loberg went 2-3 to pace the team at the plate.
Jillian Jueden  and Taylor Lammers fared well with 1-2 performances. Lammers’s hit was a triple.
Hartington took on Randolph on June 21, winning 10-9.

Hartington 14s split pair of games with Cty foes

RANDOLPH —  The Hartington 14-and-under girls’ softball team earned a 16-6 win over Randolph June 12.
Lauren Steffen and Lauren Bengston paced the Hartington offense as both girls went 2-4 at the plate.
Brandi Wiebelhaus also had a stellar outing on the mound to earn the win.
June 14, Wynot traveled to Hartington with the visitors from the north earning a lopsided 18-3 win.
Kayla Loberg, Sophie Noecker, Taylor Lammers, Lauren  Bengston, and Lauren Steffen all had hits in the game, but Hartington couldn’t bring them around to score.
Camie Stratman suffered the loss on the mound for Hartington.

Hartington softball girls take on three foes

HARTINGTON —  The Hartington 18-and-under softball team defeated Wynot 7-2 here last Tuesday.
Emily Schrempp, Michaela Dendinger, and Kenedy Biltoft all had doubles to pace the Hartington offense and Sara Pinkelman went 2-3 at the plate. Emily Schrempp got the win on the mound.
Hartington and Verdigre played to a 5-5 tie before the game had to be called because of darkness.
Shelby Hochstein and Camie Stratman each went 2 for 3 at the plate with Camie having a great last inning bunt for a base hit, and Shelby Hochstein sacrificing her in for the tie.
On June 7, Hartington dropped a 14-2 decision to Crofton.
Brandi Wiebelhaus paced the team with her 2-2 outing at the plate.

Hartington’s softball teams hit the diamond

HARTINGTON — The Hartington girls’ softball teams got the season started May 29 with games here against Verdigre.
The Harington 14-and-under squad dropped a 10-1 decision to Verdigre, while the Hartington 18-and-under squad fell 7-4 to the visitors from the West.
In the 14-and-under contest, Kayla Loberg had the only hit of the game for Hartington. She then scored off of Brandi Wiebelhaus’s sacrifice.
Sophie Noecker and Taylor Lammers led Hartington on the mound.

HARTINGTON— The Hartington 18-and-under girls’ softball team ended the regular season with a pair of victories.
Hartington topped Wynot 12-4 then came out of a slugfest with Crofton to earn the 17-14 decision.
