Indians, Bees get wins over Tigers

The Osmond boys’ basketball team played Ponca on Monday, Jan. 28, in the Lewis and Clark Conference tournament. The final score was Ponca 57, Osmond 34. Daniel Wiese scored 10 points for the boys, while Carlin Krienert put up 11 points and 13 rebounds. Coach Brian Guenther said, “It was not a bad start to the game, but we just didn’t take advantage of taking the ball to the hole hard when we had our chances early. We did get to the free throw line more than 20 times, which is always our goal.”

Tigers second in Verdigre tourney

On Thursday, Dec. 27, the Osmond Tigers traveled to Verdigre to play Allen in a great matchup that ended 59 to 35 in favor of the Tigers in the opening round of the holiday tournament. In this game, the Tigers showed how much they wanted to win, Coach Brian Guenther noted.

Wynot boys move to 3-0 with Osmond win

Wynot —  The Wynot Blue Devils cruised past the Osmond Tigers Friday.

The Blue Devils raced out to a 22-7 first-quarter lead as they dominated the game for their third win of the season with the 57-30 victory.

Wynot shot 50 percent from the field hitting on 20-40 shots and went 7-13 from three-point land.

Cards start season with Osmond win

OSMOND — The Randolph Cardinals and the Osmond Tiger open the 2012-2013 basketball season Friday night.

The game was a low scoring affair that featured some solid defense and a lot of rust left over from the off season on the offensive end.

HARTINGTON — The Randolph Cardinals were on a mission.

Coach Mark Anderson’s Cardinal squad played solid defense and shot the ball well to hand the Osmond Tigers a 44-30 D1-3 District title game setback and earn a trip to next week’s Class D1 State Tournament.
