Lady Cards are runner-ups of final NENAC Tny.

PLAINVIEW — The Randolph Lady Cardinals earned runner-up honors last week in the final NENAC Conference Tourney ever staged.

The conference will disband next year when schools shift to other conferences.

The Lady Cards fell to West Holt in Friday’s title match. This marks the second straight year that West Holt has won the title.

The Cards championship game appearance was the first one for Randolph since 1999.

Lady Cards struggle against Pierce, Stanton

RANDOLPH — The Lady Cardinals stumbled in their  final regular season action of the season.

Randolph fell to a team they have previously beaten, dropping a 25-21, 25-23, 25-18 decision to the Pierce Lady Blue Jays on Oct. 16.

Lady Cardinals are now 10-10 on the volleyball season

RANDOLPH — The Randolph Lady Cardinals put together a 2-2 performance last week.

The Lady Cards are now 10-10 on the year.

Randolph started the week with a four-set setback to Hartington. The Big Red defeated NENAC foe Plainview on Oct. 9, then split games with Plainview and Pierce in Thursday’s Pierce County Tourney.

WAYNE — The Randolph Lady Cardinals avenged an early-season loss to rival Laurel during action Saturday in the Wayne Tournament.

The Lady Cards used a balanced attack at the net to pick up the win.

RHS Lady Cardinals fall in three sets to Cedar Catholic

RANDOLPH — The Lady Cardinals fell to 4-4 after a three-set loss Thursday to Cedar Catholic.

Randolph was led at the net by Michaela Strathman, who slammed home nine kills in the contest. Haley Schnoor set up the offense with 16 set assists.

Wins at Triangular give RHS Lady Cards a 4-3 record

WAUSA — The Randolph Lady Cardianls dropped a NENAC Conference contest with Neligh, then put together a two-game win streak last week.

The Lady Cards, now 4-3 on the year, opened Thursday’s triangular with an easy 25-4, 25-6 win over Santee.

Lady Cards put together a pair of court victories

RANDOLPH — The Randolph Lady Cardinals earned a four-set win over Ponca here last week, then split a pair of games during a triangular at Emerson.

Randolph, 2-2 on the season, took on Neligh in action here Tuesday and will travel to Wausa on Thursday for a triangular which includes Santee.

The Lady Cards defeated Ponca in three sets last Tuesday.

Solid serving helped the Lady Cards pick up the 25-22, 25-23, 25-19 win.

RHS Lady Cards fall against Laurel

LAUREL — The Randolph Lady Cardinals took the Laurel-Concord/Coleridge Lady Bears to four sets, but the Lady Bears squeezed out the win here Thursday.

The Lady Bears earned a 25-19 win in the first set, but Randolph forced them to fight for every point after that.

LCC came out on top with a 25-23 win in the second set, but Randolph rallied in the third set for a 25-18 win over the Black and Orange.

Coach Patti Cunningham’s crew finished the Redbirds off in the fourth set with a 25-21 win.

RHS athletes recognized for achievements

RANDOLPH – Several Randolph High School athletes have recently been recognized for their achievements.  First team All District Football:  Nolan Nordhues, offensive back; Severin Bach, defensive line; Dylan Loberg, Offensive back.  All District Honorable Mention:  Rodger Haselhorst Offensive line; Grant Anderson, Offensive end.  Kirsten Fink received NENAC All-Conference and Brenna Thies earned Honorable Mention.

The RHS Volleyball team took third place at NENAC tourney two weeks ago.  Members of the team include (front row, l-r), Olivia Bargstadt, Kathryn Kuchta, Kelsey Backhaus, Sadie Linville, Emily Schnoor, McRae Stubbs, Adyson Bargstadt; (back) Michaela Strathman, Danielle Backer, Ashley Schmit, Malerie Hixson, Kirsten Fink, Brenna Thies and Haley Schnoor.
